Ganit Prajna Samvardhan, 2018 
(31stDecember, 2018)

 Ganit Prajna Samvardhan, an appreciation and exposure programme for promoting mathematics learning was organized in our Vidyalaya for the achievers of Ganit Prajna Pariksha held at VKSPV on 17thFebruary, 2018. Principal, Sri Ravindranath D. Savdeykar introduced and welcomed the Chief Guest, Dr. Gopal Ch. Hazarika, Professor of Mathematics Dept., Dibrugarh University. Out of 62 students from all VKVs, 21 students of VKV Dibrugarh were the achievers at VKSPV level. The qualified toppers were felicitated by the chief guest. Kum. Ankita Kumari (Class IX), Kr. Kaushik Dey (Class VIII) and Kum. Saanvi Sahu (Class VII) shared the experience of GPP. Parents, Sri Anil Kr. Tiwari and Smt. Angella Gogoi shared how important it was to conduct such exams in order to promote Mathematics learning in schools. They also expressed their happiness that such exams created interest for Maths in those who showed their aversion towards the subject earlier. Dr. Gopal Ch. Hazarika, chief guest, congratulated the toppers and appreciated their performance. Sri R. M. Thakre, Vice Principal ended with the Vote of Thanks followed by Shantimantra.

Gita Jnana Yajna Zone Level 
(23rd December, 2018)

 Zone Level Gita Chanting Competition, 2018 was conducted at VKV Dibrugarh organized by VKSPV, Guwahati on 23rdDecember, 2018. Sri Krishna Kumar ji, VKVAPT, Su. Rebati Didi, Joint Secretary, VKSPV, Ghy, Sri B. Kamalakant Sir, Domain Officer (Academic Co-ordinator), VKSPV, Guwahati and Su. Meera Didi, Assam Prant Sanghatak, VK Assam graced the programme with their presence. A total of 6 VKVs (VKV, NEEPCO, Bokuloni, VKV Baragolai, VKV Sadiya, VKV Tinsukia, VKV Tingrai, VKV Dibrugarh) participated in the competition. Competition was conducted group wise.  The Judges of the programme were Sri Krishna Kumar ji, Dr. Aditi Baruah, Professor, Dept. of Sanskrit, Dibru College and Smt. Modhumita Goswami Borthakur, HOD, Dept. of Sanskrit, Dibru College. Vice Principal, Sri R. M. Thakre, VKV Dibrugarh welcomed all the participants, teachers and invitees present. The judges were introduced and felicitated by our teachers Smt. Niti Bhattacharjee, Smt. Rita Dowerah and Smt. Pranamika Bordoloi. Su. Rebati Didi explained the importance of Gita in our daily life. Sri Krishna Kumar ji also explained the importance of Gita chanting and slokas with its meaning. Smt. Pranamika Bordoloi and Sri Biren Saikia, teacher, VKV Dibrugarh also chanted Gita slokas and explained their meaning to keep the spirit of the competition alive. The judge Dr. Aditi Baruah presented a Bhajan before the audience. Su. Meera Didi’s in her speech highlighted the importance of Gita and the use of it in students lives and also gave feedback and appreciation to the participants. The programme ended with the distribution of prizes to the winners by the judges and Vice Principals of our school.

In Group C, Proficiency Prize - Kum. Sunanda Singh (Class VIII), VKV NEC, Baragolai. Appreciation Prize – Kum. Debangana Chakraborty (Class VIII), VKV Tinsukia and Kum. Pinakshi Kumar (Class VII), VKV NEEPCO, Bokuloni.
In Group D, Proficiency Prize - Kum. Deepjyoti Roy (Class IX), VKV NEC Baragolai. Appreciation Prize – Kum. Shrutismita Sharma (Class X), VKV Tinsukia and Kum. Shruti Chetia (Class IX), VKV NEEPCO, Bokuloni.

Mahabhaskara Vijnan Pradarshani, 2018 
(21st and 22ndDecember, 2018) 

 With the idea to promote young scientists and to satisfy their hunger for knowledge, the 12 non science teaching Vidyalaya faculty and the 102 students joined hands to organize a Science and Mathematics Exhibition on 21stand 22nd December, 2018 where they presented concepts by “learning by doing”. It was held in the assembly hall of the Vidyalaya and was formally inaugurated by Dr. Jitu Buragohain, Principal, Dibru College, Dibrugarh. We began the day in good faith with our daily prayer where all the students and teachers joined together. Our Vice Principal, Sri R.M.Thakre and few teachers accompanied the Chief Guest to inspect the various Mathematics and Science Models exhibited by our students of Classes VI to IX. A total of 53 Science experiments and 120 Mathematics models were presented by the students. To enlist a few, there were working models of DC Fan, Magical Straw, Submarine and other Physics and Chemistry experiments and Mathematics models based on written works by team experts by Jnana Prabhodini. After all, it was a great day for the students of VKV Dibrugarh as they could showcase their skills, know and learn more about the wonders of Science and Mathematics. Vice Principal, Sri R.M.Thakre Sir welcomed the Chief Guest. In his welcome address, he highlighted the importance of holding such exhibitions for imbibing scientific temper among the students. He also mentioned that this was an event which offered an opportunity to our students to put into practice what they have learnt in classrooms. A group of students performed a geet which added to the fair. The Chief Guest, Dr. Jitu Buragohain spoke a few words of appreciation which encouraged the students. He also spoke of the lives of some great scientists and their works which motivated the students. Sri B. Kamalakant Sir, Domain Officer (Academic Co-ordinator), VKSPV, Guwahati and Dr. Kunjalata Deori, VMC Member, VKV Dibrugarh also graced the occasion by their presence and blessed the students. Finally, the welcome programme was concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Kum. Megha Mordani, teacher, VKV Dibrugarh. On 22nd December, 2018, day 2 of the exhibition, parents and students from various schools visited the exhibition and made the event an overwhelming success.


Aryabhatta Anushandantamak Vijnan Prakalpa, 2018 
(21st and 22ndDecember, 2018) 

 The AAVP programme at VKV Dibrugarh cluster with the participation of 5 VKVs and 72 participants started their final presentation on 22ndDecember, 2018 in the presence of 6 judges of different science disciplines. The presentation was conducted at two levels - senior XI & XI and junior VI to VIII respectively. The inauguration programme was organized at the Vidyalaya’s Sanskriti Sabhagriha along with the 6 judges Dr. Anupal Baruah, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Chemistry, Dibrugarh University, Sri Pranab Paul, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Botany, Dibru College, Dibrugarh, Sri Rajesh Shah, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Zoology, DHSK College, Dibrugarh, Sri Gouree Shankar Das, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Physics, Dibrugarh University, Dr. P.K. Saikia, Associate Professor, Dept. of Physics, Dibrugarh University, Dr. Dipankoj Gogoi, Associate Professor, Dept. of Chemistry, DHSK College, Dibrugarh, two mentors from Jnana Prabhodini Sri Abhijit Atmaram Kapre, Retd. Commander, Indian Navy, Presently Centre In-charge, Jnana Prabhodini and Sri Prashant Pandurang Divekar, Centre In-charge, Jnana Prabhodini, Sri B. Kamalakant, Domain Officer (Academic Co-ordinator), VKSPV, Guwahati and Sri B.M.Naidu, Director, SKV, Dibrugarh. In the Valedictory function on 22nd December, 2018, Dr. H. K. Das, Asst. Director, ICMR, Dibrugarh graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The two mentors of the programme from Jnana Prabhodini attended both the inaugural and valedictory function. Speaking on the occasion, Sri Divekarji motivated the students stating that activities and experiments like AAVP can model their lifelong mission. He also emphasized on a need based approach to work and make it relevant to the present society. The chief guests of the Valedictory function. He credited teachers and focused on the importance of motivation and positively to make such programmes successful.
