CAREER COUNSELLING PROGRAMME 

A career awareness cum counselling programme was organised by Akhil Bharatiya Marwari Yuva Manch on 16th May, 2016 (Monday). 20 students from Class X of our Vidyalaya participated in the programme.

The Resource Person Sri Veera who conducted the programme. He started the programme with Brain Storming Season and asked few questions from the students. Then he started to ask students individually what they want to do in future and which stream they want to join. As he cleared various confusions of the students and told about various professions, how to join them and pass the competative exam. 
GANIT PRAGYAN PARIKSHA, 2016

Ganit Pragyan Pariksha, 2016 was organised by Vivekananda Kendra Shiksha Prasar Vibhag (VKSPV), Guwahati at 19 VKV's on 17th February, 2016 for Class VI students. Total no. of students registered were 848 where 793 students appeared. No. of  VKSPV rankers are 312.

This exam was conducted to see the analytical ability in Mathematics by the students. The full marks for the paper was 100. The marks distribution of the exam was Algebra 16 marks, Arithmetic 30 marks, Geometry 30 marks and Rational numbers 24 marks.

In top 15 rankers of VKV's, 5 students of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Dibrugarh scored positions. The students are Ankita Kumari (top 5), Robinson Pura (top 7), Nibir Nayan Mahanta (top 9), Anwesha Debnath(top 10) and  Ahana Bhadury (top 12).

“Scholastic Book Fair” 
held at

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Dibrugarh

Date : 5th May to 7thMay, 2016
VKV Dibrugarh held a book fair, organised by 'Scholastic' at the behest of Principal Sri Ravindranath D. Savdeykar from 5th to 7th May, 2016 in the school premises from morning 9 am to 5 pm. 


It saw an overwhelming response from students and parents. A wide range of books from all disciplines of education was displayed, and fiction saw the greatest takers.


It is a device to spread culture, education and knowledge. It changes the outlook on life and widens the domain of learning.  A book fair is always an attraction for book lovers across the globe. Our Vidyalaya is very much thankful to the “Scholastic Book Fair” which benefited our students to increase their habit of reading and help to spread knowledge at large.

Release function of Yearly School Magazine 

2015-2016 at

The 8thedition of ‘Sanpragya’ was released on 3rd May, 2016 by Sri Siddhartha Sharma, Senior Manager of Tea Garden, J. Thomas & Company and member of the school Managing Committee. Dedicating the school magazine in the presence of the Principal and Vice-Principal of the Vidyalaya and students of class IX and class X ,he congratulated the students who contributed for the yearly magazine and asked the others to contribute for the next edition for those who did not get a chance to publish their writing.

Session begin for Class XI (Science and Commerce)

With 21 students from Science and 30 students from Commerce, the fresh session for Class XI (2016 - 2017) started on 2nd May, 2016. It is important to note that unlike every year, even this year a standard entrance test was conducted to permit eligible students to take admission in Senior Secondary of this prestigious school. The Principal of the Vidyalaya, Sri Ravindranath D. Savdeykar addressed the students. He emphasized them to move with an action plan and to set target and goals for their Board Exams in 2018. The Vice Principal, Sri B.M. Naidu made the students aware  the rules, regulations and instructions of the Vidyalaya.
Kendra Varga for Primary Teachers 

of VKV Dibrugarh on 30thApril, 2016


Kendra Varga was organized for VKV Dibrugarh Primary Teachers. 18 teachers attended the session which started at 12 noon at Sanskriti Sabagriha of the Vidyalaya. 



After chanting  and Omkaras along with Sahana Bhabatu, the teachers chanted Akya Mantra. Thereafter, they were guided to exhale and inhale. This is known as Anulam – Bilom in Yoga and is beneficial to develop and sharpen memory as well as concentration. 



Teachers were stimulated physically with games and given tasks like group discussion and presentation. The book selected for the group discussion was a chapter from Mananeeya Eknathji Ranade’s “Sadhana of Service” – a must read book for teachers working for Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas.




Padmasree Jadav Payeng’s visits 

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Dibrugarh 
on 30th April, 2016 

Padmasree Jadav Payeng, better known as the “FOREST MAN” of India visited our Vidyalaya on 30th April, 2016 (Saturday) at about 2:30 pm. It was an initiative by “AUXESIS” of Dibrugarh University who is heading the environment movement with Sri Jadav Payeng in their effort of “EACH ONE, PLANT ONE.” 



Sri Jadav Payeng addressed the Vidyalaya student in the afternoon assembly, inspiring them with his motto and mission of life, i.e. to plant trees and removes the hazards of industrialization. He also planted a sapling in the Vidyalaya playground with the students. He was also accompanied by a dignitary of the Dibrugarh University, Sri Madan Dutta, other faculties and few students of the University.








Sharing his happiness in visit to the Vidyalaya, nature lover and conservationist, Payeng said that the students are the future of our country and can play a vital role to save Mother Nature and Mother Earth.
