150th Sister Nivedita Birth Anniversary Celebration 
28th October 2017 

i)                    Sister Nivedita Jayanti was observed in the morning assembly. A student of Class X, Kum. Isha Nandini Kaman gave a speech highlighting the life and contribution to the society by Sister Nivedita. Elizabeth Margaret Noble better known as Sister Nivedita devoted her life for the service to Indian people under the influence of Swami Vivekananda. Students of the Vidyalaya performed two group songs “Maa ka Hriday” and “The mother’s heart” to remember her on the occasion of her 150th Birth Anniversary on 28th October 2017.
ii)                  Power Point Presentation competition on 150th Birth Anniversary of Sister Nivedita: The competition started with mangacharan and a brief introduction about Sisietr Nivedita was given at the beginning of the programme. Thereafter, the Power Point Presentations were on Sister Nivedita’s Tyag and Sewa, Sister Nivedita and Swami Vivekananda, Swami Vivekananda and education, Indian freedom movement and sister Nivedita etc. Students from Class IX and XI took part in the competition. The competition was judged by our respected teachers Smt. Hironmoyee Das, Smt. Rajkumari Sharma and Smt. Sanchita Mazumder. This was the 1st phase of the competition. The winners of the 1st phase will qualify for the 2ndphase at the VKSPV level. Students were motivated, instructed and guided about the criteria of the competition. Total no. of groups was 6. The slides were wonderful, attractive and carried lots of information within 12-15 slides. The groups who presented the power point presentation were asked questions by the other students and judges. At the end the judges gave feedback for more improvement to every team. The competition ended with Shantimantra.


iii)                A visit to Anandalaya Centre at Pothilibalm (Tiloi), Moranhat by the senior teachers of VKV Dibrugarh on account of 150thBirth Anniversary of Sister Nivedita to distribute clothes, woollen clothes, bedsheets, blankets and Biscuits to the children and their parents. Total 109 children along with their parents. The people were very much happy to receive the materials from our teachers. Even though maximum things were given but there were few things that were left out. Remaining things were handed over to Su. Binoti Didi and Sri Horen, Karyakarta of Vivekananda Kendra Aanandalaya, to distribute to some needy people of Pothalibalm Club. Smt. Hironmoyee Das, Smt. Jyotsna Devi, Smt. Niti Bhattacharjee and Smt. Manisha Gokhle Saikia were involved in this noble work on the auspicious occasion of Sister Nivedita Jayanti.

Mananeeya Vishwasji visit: Man. Vishwasji, Jeevanvrati Karyakarta of Vivekananda Kendra. After completing his education he responded positively on the call of Vivekananda Kendra as life worker. He was posted in north-eastern region in 1981. He worked as a teacher first and as Principal in VKV Tinsukia. He held the charge of secretary in Assam, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh. He almost spent 30 years in this region. In 2011 he was given responsibility of Maharashtra and Goa as Pranth Sanghatak to take care of various Vivekananda Kendra activities.

House Keeping Management 

12thto 14th October 2017

For the first time House Keeping Management workshop was organized by VKSPV at VKV Dibrugarh from 12th to 14th October 2017. It was a three day residential camp. 25 participants from different VKVs and Kendra attended the workshop. Su. Meera Kulkarni, Su. Kimaya Didi, Su. Reboti Didi Sri Surendra Kulkarni, Sri Kamalakant Sir, Smt. Pranami Goswami didi, Sri Vasant Barve, Smt. Meenakshi Barve and our Principal Sir, Sri Ravindranath D. Savdeykar were the resource persons of the workshop. There were group discussions on how to keep proper cleanliness in the classrooms, guest rooms, personal quarters, campus etc., how to manage the Annapurna (Mess). The resource persons gave valuable advice and suggestion on cleanliness and its importance. On 14th October 2017 there were the concluding sessions where Smt. Kunjalata Deori was the Chief Guest. She said everyone is working in different place with different responsibility but the mission should be the same “Man making Nation building”.

Visit of Sri Santosh Takale 

7th October 2017 

 

An interactive programme with Sri Santosh Takale (B. Tech, Mechanical), Senior Scientist Officer, BAARC, Mumbai was organized for the students of Class VI to XII both Science and Commerce on 7th October 2017 in the school auditorium from 10 am onwards. 


He was the founder and advisory of Takale Charitable Trust. The Principal of the Vidyalaya welcome him with a fulam gamusa as a token of love. 



Sri Santosh Takale interacted with the students with enthusiasm and patience on understanding the Universe with Scientific Temperament that includes journey of science and scientists, origin of the universe i.e. the theory of Big Bang, origin of Solar System, Evolution of early man, astrology – non existence to existence, Andromeda galaxy and so on. The students also asked questions and cleared their doubts. The programme was very informative, helped our students to know more about universe. The programme ended with Shantimantra.
