National Youth Day, 2017 (11th & 12th January, 2017)


In the morning a rally was arranged throughout the town where about 500 students participated from the Vidyalaya and 50 students from Shree Agrasen Academy, Dibrugarh. Other well wishers, parents and teachers were prepared “Sons of India” and “Pauranik Katha” where students dressed up in the role of Eknathji, Swami Viovekananda, Ramkrishna, Sharada Maa etc. The students tried to spread Swamiji’s message to the common public by holding placards of Swamiji’s message.


A two day cultural programme was organised for National Youth Day on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda’s Birthday. On the first day, the programme was graced by dignitaries on stage like Sri Paresh Baruah, Principal, Dibru College and Dr. Shristhidhar Dutta holding the current Anniruddha Deva Chair of Dibrugarh University. 




The second day programme was graced by Sri Suvan Seth, Domain Officer, VKSPV, Guwahati and Sri R.K.Agarwal, Chartered Accountant and member of VMC. 
                
The cultural programme gave the students of the Vidyalaya to host different series of programme to showcast their diverse talent in different fields. 
A host of recitations, yoga performance and dance numbers were performed by students. 
          
Kishori Sammelan (22nd December, 2016) 
Kishori Samnmelan was organized by VKV Dibrugarh for the girls  of Classes IX, X & XI. The Chief Guest  of the programme was Dr. Kunjalata Deori, the Guest of honour was Dr. Jenita Baruah. The Bauddhik Satra was presided over by Rajkumari Didi and Self Defence skills were guided by Nirmal Kanti Seal, Coach, Martial Arts. The main objective of the Sammelan was to make the girls aware of the adolescent period, the phase through which they are going through. Moreover, health & hygiene classes were imparted along with knowledge of benefitting from a balanced nutritious diet, to consider the changes physically and mentally. Total no. of girls student attended was 59.
Matri Sammelan (21st December, 2016) at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Dibrugarh 

Matri Sammelan was organized on 21st December, 2016 in the Vidyalaya campus. 168 mothers registered themselves for this Sammelan. 150 mothers attended the programme. The Principal, Sri Ravindranath D. Savdeykar addressed the Matris. Three dignitaries Dr. Bharati Dutta, Retd. Lecturer of DHSK College, Dept. of Geography, Smt. Sudakshina Das Bordoloi, Lecturer of DHSK College, Dept. of Zoology and Smt. Mohini Deori, Social Worker and noted writer graced the occasion. Group discussion was organized for the Matris.  The group of Matris was divided into 12 ganas and 3 vibhags. 

The topics were ideal woman, role of mother in developing values in a child, Contribution of woman in society formation. The gana pramukhs presented their views. Susri Meera Didi, Assam Prath Saghatak, Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari was also present. She also addressed the session quoting the role of mother in building a healthy society. 22 Matris came forward to form “Matri Manch” at the request of Susri Meera Didi.
Ishan Vikas Programme ( 5th to 15th December, 2016)


10 girl students of Class IX attended the Ishan Vikas Programme at Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, Dehradun along with two escort teachers Smt. Deepa Bora and Smt. Nijora Neog. 

              

Since, last year the Ministry of Human Resource, Govt. of India, conducts the programme with an objective of promoting the children and on raising awareness on science among school students of Northeastern states.  The students were acquainted with subjects like physics, chemistry, biology and basics of Mathematics to develop their interest in the broader aspects of Science.


The 10 students were Kum. Astha Bora, Kum. B.Meghana, Kum. Akriti Kumari Shah, Kum. Simran Singh, Kum. Palki Gogoi, Kum. Lupamudra Das, Kum. Isha Nandini Kaman, Kum. Manjeeta Baro, Kum. Shrestha Baruah and Kum. Deepika Das.
Gita Chanting Competition (13th December, 2016)

Gita Chanting competition was conducted for the students of
 the primary and secondary students of the Vidyalaya. 

Sri Krishna Kumarji, VKVAPT and 

Smt. Madhumita Goswami, HOD of Sanskrit Dept., 
Dibrugarh University 

were the Judges of the competition. Total participants from
 Primary were 40 students and from secondary were 30 students.
Asom Divas (2nd December, 2016) 
Asom Divas was observed in the Vidyalaya on 2ndDecember, 2016. In the morning, a chorus was performed by the secondary students. Two dance performances were also performed by the students, one by primary and the other by secondary.

Adhunik Asomiya Nritya by the students of  Class II to V

The significance of the day was also narrated to commemorate the advent of Chaolung Sukapha on this day to the Patkai Hills.


The Quiz Competition was conducted on Asom Divas. To select the team from every house the first round of Competition was held on Lachit Divas (24thNov, 2016) with a Questionnaire of 100 questions of 100 marks for all the students of Classes VI to X. The theme of the Quiz Competition was “Know Assam”.
